All 33 plasma specimens were archival and stored at 80°C, and of an age range between 29 and 76 years.  IRESSEF describe the Genedrive HCV ID Kit as being “ideal in a ‘test and treat’ model within a decentralised setting, due to its portability and speed to result”; as well as stating that the test had “Excellent Sensitivity, Excellent Specificity and Excellent PPV and NPV”. The results of the study were recently presented at the WHA African Hepatitis Summit in Uganda, by Dr Ambroise Ahouidi, Evaluation Coordinator.
