Statement on Slavery and Human Trafficking
Genedrive fully endorses the Modern Slavery Act 2015 in order to eliminate all forms of human slavery, human trafficking and forced labour (“Modern Slavery”) and it endeavours to ensure both its employees and suppliers understand the importance of complying with the act.
Our organisation
Genedrive is a publicly listed company focusing on creating innovative point of care pharmacogenetic tests to support the optimal use of medicines and improve patient outcomes.
We have over 40 employees based either in our location in Manchester or field-based.
All employees at Genedrive are trained on the company code of conduct which covers topics including Human Rights.
Our activities are overseen by the Board of Directors who have overall and ultimate responsibility for Genedrive’s activities. Genedrive’s day to day management resides in our Executive Team which reports directly to the CEO.
Our supply chains
Genedrive requires its suppliers to comply with all applicable in-country laws, regulations, industry codes and contractual terms as well as with generally accepted sustainability standards where applicable.
- Ethics: Suppliers shall conduct their business in an ethical manner and act with integrity.
- Human Rights and Labour: Suppliers shall be committed to upholding the human rights of workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
- Health and Safety: Suppliers shall provide a safe and healthy working environment.
- Environment: Suppliers shall operate in an environmentally responsible and efficient manner, and they shall minimise adverse impacts on the environment.
Risk assessment
Genedrive believes that because of the steps it has taken, it has a low risk of modern slavery issues within the business and in its direct supply chain, and there have been no reported instances of suspected modern slavery or people trafficking during the year. However, we are not complacent and will continue to be alert for potential issues.
Due diligence
We are committed to minimising the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our organisation and supply chains and will: (i) continue to review our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and raise awareness across the organisation; (ii) continue to refine our supply chain risk management and due diligence processes; and (iii) revise and refine our procurement procedures where appropriate.
Training
Training is provided to all employees on modern slavery, which covers the ILO’s Forced labour Indicators, how to report suspicions of modern slavery and how to consider modern slavery risks in procurement. This training is carried out annually to ensure the required competence level is maintained.
Key performance indicators
In order to measure the performance of any anti-slavery actions the following key performance indicators have been set:
– All employees to receive training about modern slavery issues on an annual basis
– All new suppliers, and key existing suppliers, to be assessed for modern slavery risks
– Any suspicions of modern slavery reported to be investigated within 1 week of the initial report.
KPI’s to be reviewed on an annual basis and reported within the Management Report
